While looking for insects on the dock loop, the North group spotted a raven high up in a white pine. On the opposite side of the trunk was a large grey, brown object that looked like a wasp's nest. The weird thing was that it wasn't hanging from a branch, it was on top of a branch. When we walked to other side of the tree and looked up, this is what we saw. Thanks to Mrs. Gondek for running back with her camera to capture this amazing shot of a great horned owl.
Since we had a much warmer week, we were hoping to have a little more success finding a few insects still hanging around in Mud Lake. Check out our slide show to see what we discovered on a foggy morning. We actually found a few insects this time - can you tell the insects from the non-insects?
Mr. Cameron and the grade 4 and 5 students from Regina Street Public School hope to share their year-long journey of discovery with the world.
